The word digital divide encompasses a wide range of problems concerning the inequalities in today’s technological society. It is a term that we are familiar with, yet many of us are still unaware of many of the other factors regarding this issue. PhD candidate at the University of Berkley, Jen Schradie expands on seven myths about the current digital divide that our society faces. The article starts with what I thought was the most striking statement: the digital divide is so over that it’s passé. With the increasing global attention and innovating movements that have been taken to address this issue, we think that we have solved the problem, but much more has yet to be done to bridge this digital divide.
